Welcome back to another day of NBA action! While my initial selections didn’t yield the desired results in the past few days, I understand that as a seasoned basketball handicapper of 30 years, I should aim for a success rate of around 54-55% in my picks. Today, I have carefully chosen five games to share with you, along with a brief explanation for each selection.
- Charlotte Hornets +6.5: Despite a disappointing season so far, the Hornets still have a slim chance of making the playoffs. With their opponents, the Brooklyn Nets, on a week-long road trip, I anticipate Charlotte tightening their defense and securing a comfortable 10-point victory.
- Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat – Under 210: Both teams have demonstrated their defensive capabilities, and with their current battle to move up in the standings, I expect a tightly contested matchup. Considering their previous hard-fought encounter, I recommend taking the under in this game.
- Boston Celtics vs. Minnesota Timberwolves – Under 218: Although the Timberwolves are missing Jimmy Butler and may be a bit rusty after a five-day rest, their talent cannot be overlooked. Nevertheless, I believe Boston’s superior defense will keep the scoring low in this game. Don’t sweat it; take the under.
- Phoenix Suns vs. Oklahoma City Thunder – Over 56.5 (1st Quarter): Here’s a hunch play for you. These two teams are known for their fast-paced starts, and my gut feeling tells me they will come out firing in the first quarter. Trust your instincts and go with the over.
- Boston Celtics -2: In this game, I’m siding with the Boston Celtics. Their backcourt boasts more talent, and they have the defensive prowess to contain Karl-Anthony Towns. Expect a closely contested matchup, with Boston emerging victorious. Lay the points and support the Celtics.
